For many of us, our pets are our best friends. They are the ones that we talk to about anything and everything, because they are the only creatures you can totally trust to never tell anyone else. They are there for you through every major life event, and their support never falters. There are thousands of reasons why they are your best friends, but here are some of the main ones.
They Offer Unconditional Love
Your animals offer you unconditional love. If you accidentally step on their paw, they cry, blame themselves, and then run to you immediately. They don’t stay mad at you, even if you have snapped at them without meaning to because you are in a bad mood. They understand you in a way that no one else ever will. It’s a beautiful friendship, and one that is built on an unbreakable level of trust.
They are Explorers
Your pets want to make you happy. If you want to explore and go hiking, they will be right there with you the whole way. Nowhere is better than right by your side. From casual hikes to mountain climbing, pets do it all, and they do it all for you. They get joy out of doing what you want to do, and anything you love they love too. They are the ultimate explorers, and you know they would protect you if anything every happened.
They Wait for You
Every day when you come home from work, or a trip to the supermarket, they are there waiting for you by the door. They know when you are scheduled to come home, and it is the highlight of their day. Regardless of the animal, you are the reason they get so excited when the front door opens. It’s another example of their unconditional love and undying friendship.
They Calm You
If you’re going through a bad time, your animals know, and they are there for you. Often, if you find yourself in tears, your pet will be right next to you (or on you) in no time at all. They know when you are suffering, and they are there to make things better. Just stroking your pet can bring a feeling of calm and peace.
In many ways, our pets are our captives. They allow us to rant and rage at them about all of the things that have gone wrong that day. Your awful friend who said a horrible thing, your nasty manager who made you take an extra shift, and that particularly rude customer that you can’t get out of your head. It doesn’t matter what you are angry about, your pet will sit with you and listen to all of the things that have gone wrong during the day. At the end of it all, they will just look at you, and everything will seem better.
Our animals are loyal, compassionate, and filled with an unbeatable level of unconditional love. No matter what we do or who we are, they love us just as we are, and they are always there for us. All they want is to love and support us – just as we do for them every day.
